Apizza Scholls, located in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood of Portland, has earned a stellar reputation for its large, customizable 18-inch pizzas that have customers coming back time and time again. The restaurant’s journey began in 2001 when Brian and Kim, the founders, started a wood-fired sourdough bakery in Scholls, Oregon. What began as a bakery, Olive Mountain Baking Co., evolved into a pizzeria, "Scholls Public House," in 2004, where they perfected their pizza craft. Inspired by the famous pizzerias of New Haven, Connecticut, Apizza Scholls reflects both their connection to the original Scholls location and their dedication to making great pizza. After a legal battle forced them to relocate, the name “Apizza Scholls” was born, paying homage to their roots. The restaurant specializes in simple yet high-quality pizzas, such as the "Build Your Own - Starts with Plain Pie," and the fan-favorite "Paulie Gee Pizza." House pies like the "Pepperoni, Sausage & Mushroom Pie" are also top choices. Patrons love to pair their pizzas with a fresh Caesar Salad or dip them in Ranch dressing.
