Sitting at 1750 meters above sea level, located on the eastern side of the mountains, Finca Tobosi is one of the latest project by Camilo Merizalde.
Originally from Colombia, Camilo Merizalde was one of the first farmers to grow specialty coffee. His success in production allowed him to expand into costa rica, mexico, and brazil. His immaculate attention to the details in soil and dry milling allowed him to cultivate the right conditions to grow coffee, a very uncommon variety in Costa Rica.
With this Red B varietal, not only we continued to focus on a single varietal, but also introduced a Red Honey Semi-Washed process coffee.
This is an excellent coffee showcasing both its varietal characteristics and processing. Lovely fruit notes of berries and acidities, a sweet layer of raisin and prune wrapping up the core, chocolate-like, brown sugar bomb.

In 2018, we purchased our very first coffee under the roof of Operation Cherry Red (renamed as Ethiopian Cup in 2019). They were our Guji Bishan Dimo Wash and also Sidamo Gora Kone Natural.
This year, 2019, we brought back our memory and success with Gora Kone, a 2019 crop.
This is a coffee from the Sidamo, Arsi region, at the village of Werka.
700-800 smallholders put in all of their effort, producing the finest coffees possible.

With the new regulations within the Ethiopia Coffee Market implemented in 2017-18, farmers now have the ability to directly export their coffees, increasing traceability and transparency.
Operation Cherry Red (OCR) is breed under such welcoming door.
Participating farmers have a financial incentive to produce better quality coffees, set by our green coffee partners, promising better prices for higher quality coffees.
